Volunteering with Warrington VIP has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. My mum was a long-time member after losing her sight, and from the very beginning I was inspired by the warmth, resilience and sense of community within the group. Over the years, I’ve loved helping out wherever I can, from running the weekly lunch club and supporting ad hoc activities, to joining assisted holidays and even cooking lunch when needed.

Being involved in this way has given me a real insight into the challenges people with visual impairments face, and how much of a difference the right support can make. Becoming a Trustee felt like a natural next step, so I could help shape the future of the charity and make sure our members continue to feel seen, valued and supported.

I bring empathy, strong organisational skills, lived experience, and a genuine passion for inclusion and accessibility. I’m committed to helping Warrington VIP grow and reach more people, keeping independence and empowerment at the heart of everything we do. I also enjoy fundraising for the charity, I’ve trekked across Spain, and in February 2026 I’ll trekked across Cuba to raise funds and help keep our vital work going.
