Legacies

We provide a lifeline for people in Warrington coming to terms with losing their sight. By remembering us in your will you can ensure that this vital help continues in the future. We rely heavily on the generosity of local people to fund our core services.

So, once you’ve remembered your loved ones, please consider remembering Warrington VIP too. Leaving VIP a gift in your will, however large or small, will help to ensure that we continue to provide essential support services to people with sight loss and visual impairment.

Here are examples of different kinds of gifts
you can make in your will:

The remainder of your estate after you have provided for your friends and family

An amount of money specified in your will, e.g. £1000

A special gift, e.g. an antique, a stamp collection or even property or shares

Partnership and grants

Partnerships with local organisations and communities is essential for the running of our small charity, it helps us to thrive and to build crucial relationships to support each other.

We are based at The Old School, a fantastic community centre with an array of artists and other community groups sharing the building such as MacIntyre & Home Start.

Our Partnerships

Strengthening Support Through Our Partnership with the NHS

We are fortunate to have a long-standing relationship with the NHS, which facilitates a seamless referral process between our services and the RNIB Eye Clinic Liaison Service (ECLO). This collaboration ensures that individuals with visual impairments receive comprehensive support tailored to their needs. By working together, we can provide timely assistance and resources, enhancing the overall well-being and independence of our community.

Our Home at The Old School: A Hub for Community and Collaboration

Since 2012, The Old School has been the home of VIP, following our move from Museum Street. Our purpose-designed centre offers a bright and welcoming environment, featuring an on-site kitchen, a communal area, offices, a resource centre, and a sensory vegetable garden. These facilities enable us to provide a variety of programs and services for the visually impaired community.

At The Old School, we are proud to collaborate with incredible groups, including MacIntyre Greater Communities Garden Gang, Home Start, Creating Adventures, and a diverse array of talented artists. Together, we are a vibrant community where creativity and support thrive, enriching the lives of those we serve.

Essential Guidance from Warrington Voluntary Action

Warrington Voluntary Action plays a crucial role in providing governance support for Warrington VIP, as well as numerous other charity and community groups in the area. Their expert guidance ensures that our organisation adheres to best practices in management and operations, enabling us to serve the visually impaired community effectively. By fostering a strong foundation for governance, Warrington Voluntary Action empowers us and other local groups to achieve our missions and create a lasting positive impact in Warrington.

A Valued Partnership with Warrington Borough Council

We are grateful for our long-standing partnership with Warrington Borough Council, which supports our Home Visitor service. This essential service helps visually impaired individuals live independently in their own homes and plays a vital role in reducing social isolation. Through this collaboration, we continue to enhance the quality of life for those we serve.

Partnering with Torus Foundation to Enrich Lives

Torus Foundation is a community-focused organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for local residents. Through their generous funding, we have been able to make significant improvements to our VIP sensory garden, creating a more engaging and accessible space for the visually impaired community to enjoy. Additionally, their support has made our Christmas celebrations more vibrant and inclusive, bringing joy and connection to our members during the holiday season.

We are deeply grateful for Torus Foundation’s unwavering support and are proud to partner with such a compassionate and committed organisation. Together, we are making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

VIP Visionary Kitchen: Lunch Club Upgrade

We are thrilled to announce the completion of our kitchen renovation, made possible by a generous grant from Morrisons. This support has allowed us to create a more accessible and inclusive environment for our visually impaired community members. With these improvements, individuals can now safely and confidently learn essential cooking skills, fostering greater independence and empowerment. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Morrisons for their commitment to our mission and their invaluable support in making this project a reality.
